Working with our friend and fellow-joiner Peter Follansbee, we
reproduced this cupboard for the National Parks Service. It can be seen in the Iron
Master's House at their Saugus Ironworks Site. It is a sister of the 'Paine'
cupboard featured on our Joined Furniture page. Like the Paine cupboard it features
distinctive overhangs in the lower case, shares many similarities in it's decorative
details, and was likely produced in the same shop in Newbury, Massachusetts. Note
that this version features a cupboard in the lower case between the two drawers,
whereas in the Paine cupboard, this space is occupied by an additional set of drawers.
The original of this cupboard resides at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
