Specializing in reproductions of 17th century furniture and
woodwork

A boarded box with the one of the "Hadley" carved decorative motifs. There are several surviving examples of these Connecticut Valley boxes, at least one of which retains its original (red and black) paint. The central 'shield' space is often filled with the carved initials of the owner, though in one example it is left blank. Like the originals, the box sides of this reproduction are made of riven oak, and the bottom and lid boards are sawn pine. |
